Mus2 3.3.3 Expands the Usul Archive

Mus2 has added the major usuls (rhythmic cycles) of Turkish music with version 3.3.3, offering users 54 usuls ranging from 2-beat to 124-beat cycles. On the redesigned Usul screen, usuls can be searched, examined by their mertebe (metric levels) or sub-components, played at an adjustable tempo with a bendir or kudüm, and transferred directly to the notation page.

Additionally, the 2,200-work SymbTr archive has been integrated with the usuls; works written in a selected usul can now be listed on the same screen and opened with a double-click. With this development, Mus2 takes an important step toward its goal of becoming an encyclopedia of makam music.
